Launch into flight and discover the incredible world of ballistics and firearms as students discover exactly what we can learn from these weapons. We're calling all budding physicists and mathematicians to put those skilled brains to the test as you use principles of these subjects in a way that you’ve never dreamed.
This workshop covers topics in: physics and mathematics
Designed for ages 13+
This bundle will be available in April 2018
Our bundles contain all the teaching resources you need to deliver a 1.5 hour workshop to your students. In addition to materials related to the workshop’s taught component (i.e. the lesson plan, presentation and presentation transcript), you will receive handouts and worksheets for five separate 15 minute practical activities.
All of our workshops are designed for ages 13+. We recommend that teachers check our content to ensure that the material enclosed is appropriate for your students.
There are 4 practicals in this workshop. The broad themes are:
- Muzzle velocity
- Gunshot trauma
- Gunshot residue
- Examination of striations
No. This bundle doesn’t contain the equipment you’ll need.
An equipment list is enclosed in our bundle – and you can find links to all of these items in our online shop. You’re free to purchase these materials wherever you like, but when you purchase through the website, it helps us out a little more 🙂
Each workshop is designed to be delivered in 1.5 hours (but we’ve often found that teachers utilise the bundles over several different lessons). Generally speaking, there is a 20 minute taught component, 60 minutes for practical work, and 10 minutes for a conclusion.
Notes on Practical Work
Each student will complete all practical activities over the course of the workshop. Our bundle includes a full equipment list. Equipment for the workshops must be purchased separately.
